Ubumwe Grande Hotel

Excellent hospitality. The hotel staff were very considerate and accommodating, and ready to assist when we had a question. The room was very clean, with modern decor, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There is air conditioning in the room, which was a welcome necessity during the hot temperatures during our mid-August stay. The breakfast buffet is delicious and quite extensive, with multiple choice of cereals, pastries, juices, fresh fruits, eggs and waffles to order, and miscellaneous hot plates (such as eggs, potatoes, plantains, sausage, Asian noodles, etc.) - also, the barista serving the breakfast buffet made excellent espresso each morning - every cup of coffee was perfection! The rooftop pool has amazing views, and we enjoyed our tasty dinner in the rooftop bar and grill. Our room had a lovely view of the city and surrounding hills. Would highly recommend this hotel.

A comfortable hotel with wonderful panoramic city view and friendly and helpful staff. We first checked in to the room with balcony, what we originally chose. The balcony is not the type I like and it faces the side of the city that has less of a view. Because I've stayed in this hotel before, I know that there are rooms that give you a 180 degree city view, so we asked to change room. Not only did the staff agree to our request, they also showed us two different rooms to make sure we like it before we moved! (room number 03-08 ish, on a higher floor, will give you that view i.e. 703-708, 803-808 etc.) Room service was delivered within 10 mins (ordered drinks only). Really helpful and friendly staff (who remembered us by names!) who are happy to accommodate requests, to make sure that guests are happy. Room is clean and tidy, a nice regular business hotel. Sound proof is wonderful! can't hear any noise at all and slept like a baby. Love the rooftop bar as well which also gives a wonderful view. Music was a bit too loud but they turned it down when we asked. Also like the location - we can easily walk to other upscale hotels for dinner but also a few mins from the 'messier' part of town that gives you a better sense of local life.

Pretty much everything was great: the room and the view, the quick reaction from staff and maintenance when I thought I had a plumbing issue in the room, breakfast was great, the restaurant had decent menu and very well-prepared food, view from the rooftop restaurant is spectacular. The pool is not as small as it seems and is warmed so swimming at 7 am is quite nice. My room was just by the elevators, and I was initially worried but I never heard any noise coming from the corridor.

The room was nice. We had the view on the city, and the bath separated from the shower. The pool on top is beautiful and warm! We really enjoy swimming and watching the sunset. The restaurant is also good although it isn’t open air.
